How proud he looks in his uniform. I have all of my granddad's photos from his time in service and I treasure them. A piognant choice for #MySundayPhoto this weekend. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tara. He was so young here, just 18. He looks like a boy. He got blown up at Gallipoli but survived and spent a year in an English hospital before coming home to Australia.
Now that's a special photo that's to be treasured I'm sure. I always feel both sad and happy all at the same time looking at old photos. I was so impressed when I lived in Melbourne with how many people celebrationed and commemorated Anzac Day. I knew so many friends that actually made the trip to Gallipoli too. It's incredible that he was only 18 years old and to see and have such experiences. You must be very proud. Thank you for sharing such a special photo
hi neesie there was a ballot this year to go to Gallipoli as so many people wanted to go! it was a big day here. It was lovely to see how the young ones really wanted to attend services. A sad weekend tho with the Nepal earthquake and the imminent execution of 2 Aussie blokes in Indonesia tonight. what a world we live in!
