sunset through a bushfire haze |
Hubby and I took a drive out into the countryside yesterday. It was a beautiful Autumn day here with blue skies, just a few clouds and brilliant sunshine. All pretty normal for a south-east Queensland day. On the way home, coming down the mountain, we noticed masses of smoke. There was a bushfire of some sort - it may have just been back burning which is done at this time of year. And what a glorious sunset it became!
Very nice sunset, indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brooke. Such a lovely sky.
DeleteOh how I hope everything was well but it definitely makes for a pretty picture! 😊
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura. I think it was just back burning.
DeleteWow, that is a beautiful photo. It really does look as though the sky is on fire.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah. It was a superb evening.
DeleteHi Sherry, who needs lenses and filters when a bushfire can defuse the light! When we get wildfires here the sky can look hazy for days.

Nature is really amazing. i am dreading the backburning they are planning to do across the road from us soon. the smoke will be a killer, and i worry about the animals in the bush.
DeleteSmoke makes for the prettiest sunsets, it's something to do with light refraction off the smoke particles or some such. We have a lot of burning off here too at the moment. I'm quite over the smell of smoke.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely but smelly. They are going to start burning off near us soon. Eek!
DeleteAmazing, I love the trees and the sun and the colour and ......
