In My Kitchen January 2015

Hello folks to 2015.  I am positively reeling from the Christmas whirlwind, and cannot quite believe that it is all done and dusted for another year.  Mr Pickings and I have decided that this Christmas we will go away for the big event and just relax.  We did exactly that one year and fled to Melbourne by ourselves.  It was positively blissful to just have room service in our hotel room and do nothing on the big day.  Though I have a feeling my cousins and aunt down there may want to do something big!  I actually thought I had ended up with nothing to show for In My Kitchen this month but it turns out I do have a few things for show and tell. So here they are - my Xmas goodies.  I hope you all ended up with something splendid.  Join in with Celia from Fig Jam & Lime Cordial if you too want to show off your new kitchen lovelies.

my gorgeous Mason & Cash mixing bowl with hedgehogs running along the bottom

this will be useful - thanks Maureen for the hint about this one

who can resist that big, boofy face?

pressie from Mr Pickings - I love Annabel

believe it or not this is a teeny Bison bowl - so cute

yep more Falconware!

delightful handmade ceramics from a Gold Coast artist

nope not Falconware, it is Romanian!

this is amazing!  I have used it a few times already

I was lucky this Christmas to get lots of foodie gifts from family and friends.  I hope you did too!   Hasn't it been a crazy, mad time of it lately?  I wish everyone all the best for 2015, and hope to see you all around the virtual traps.

i got the bowl online- from Tableking.com.au. they were very prompt and the bowl arrived safely. the salt is wonderful; i have sprinkled it on top of home made sausage rolls, and on the roasted capsicums i made and on scrambled eggs. it is gorgeous.

  10. Hi Sherry, your Christmas sounds perfect... how nice to retreat that way! Love, love, love your Mason & Cash mixing bowl! And swoon over the enamelware, which I've been fond of since childhood. I heard Matt Preston talking on RN about his cookbook, it sounded fabulous... but, lordy, I don't need any more cookbooks, know what I mean! : ) That food styling one has caught my eye. Thanks for the peek into your world... happy new year!

  19. There can never be too much Falcon Ware! And I so love those Mason and Cash bowls but I know they're going to be too heavy for us to handle. Look forward to hearing what you think about the Annabel book - she's a lovely lady and a great chef! Have a fabulous 2015! :)

you are so right. Falconware rules:) The hedgehog bowl is surprisingly light, unlike the Hairy Bikers' bowl i have which is stoneware and weighs a ton. (I still love it) I do love Annabel- she is the best.
      have a great 2015.
