the road to nowhere!- south-west of Stanthorpe Queensland |
We got severely lost with no GPS, little petrol, and no idea where we were! There were dead men hanging from trees and signs saying Do not leave the road. Oh boy, were we scared! No phone signal and a storm brewing with possible snow. I think my hair turned grey in a few hours:)
Sounds rather scary. hope your all ok now... #MySundayPhoto

ReplyDeletethanks clio. it was actually rather spooky!

ReplyDeleteGreat shot,,
hi claire
Deletethanks. it was scary for sure. we both needed a stiff drink afterwards.:)
Those trees would have been enough to scare me let alone dead men hanging, being lost, low on petrol and without phone signal! Glad you found your way home.
ReplyDeletethanks tara
Deletehubby didn't want to tell me at first how low the petrol was but i think he got freaked out and had to tell me. we limped into town at long long last with the car breathing in the last few fumes of petrol.
Eeeekkk that sounds very scary
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
hi darren
Deleteyep my hair has turned grey:))
Dead men? Seriously? The photo looked hauntingly beautiful until I read the caption. Now it takes on a Halloweenish Ghoulishness. Glad you're ok, I am sure this photo raises the hair on your arms!!!
ReplyDeleteyep nikki it gives me a shiver just looking at it. someone clearly did not want visitors as they had strung up stuffed clothes to look like men and had hung them from the trees. and the signs were not welcoming either!
DeleteThe getting lost sounds scary, but you got a wonderful photo out of it, silver linings!
ReplyDeletethanks amanda
Deletethe worst scenarios always become the best stories and photos!:)
Oh wow, I think I would have been scared too Sherry, I am glad you got home safely. Great photo though x
ReplyDeletethanks cathy. so glad when we got to town and could get petrol. it is weird to think that only a few kilometres out of town there is no signal so no phone or gps. Scary!
DeleteWow! That's like from the set of a horror movie!
ReplyDeleteI kept thinking of the Blair Witch Project. It was just like that!

DeleteVery stark and austere Sherry.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you should write your experience into a short story for Halloween (and exorcise the ghosts - forgive the pun).

Deleteit is weirdly haunting. such a bizarre experience in the 21st century to be completely lost.
