Thanks Tara. He was so young here, just 18. He looks like a boy. He got blown up at Gallipoli but survived and spent a year in an English hospital before coming home to Australia.

Handsome chap. I have one of my granddad before he went off to fight in WWII. Sadly he was killed. These photo's are precious memeories aren't they.
Yes I think he was lovely:). Strange that my other granddad was only a baby in the 1st WW so served in WW2!

Now that's a special photo that's to be treasured I'm sure. I always feel both sad and happy all at the same time looking at old photos.I was so impressed when I lived in Melbourne with how many people celebrationed and commemorated Anzac Day. I knew so many friends that actually made the trip to Gallipoli too.It's incredible that he was only 18 years old and to see and have such experiences.You must be very proud.Thank you for sharing such a special photo
hi neesiethere was a ballot this year to go to Gallipoli as so many people wanted to go! it was a big day here. It was lovely to see how the young ones really wanted to attend services. A sad weekend tho with the Nepal earthquake and the imminent execution of 2 Aussie blokes in Indonesia tonight. what a world we live in!

Very appropriate for the weekend that passed, we remember them.It was such a lovely ceremony I heard for the 100th ANZAC anniversary.
it was an amazing Anzac Day for sure.. so many people attended so many services around the country and even in Washington DC!
